Making A Corporate Film – Planning To Production
0 Comments | Posted by admin in General Topics
Nowadays everyone is in a mad rush. When we are viewing material and video footage for business purposes, we can easily be turned off quickly. Viewing a corporate film from your perfume or watch manufacturer seems to grab our attention more because they are goods that causes us to feel better about ourselves – we have always time for things about us! However, if it comes down to business applications we’re in a very mad rush.
Because of this, always set out your corporate movie to get a message across quickly. You need to plan the movie in five main parts:
1. A company introduction – what we do and who we are
2. A mention of quality builds trust – brag a little but undertake it briefly
3. Your merchandise – what makes them so competent
4. Your employees are focused on the main cause
5. Our pre-and-post sales service is essential to you and to us – here’s the way we realize success
Remember, a company film ought to be exactly that, nonetheless it doesn’t mean that you can’t throw in a few added effects and neat camera work to really make it all be noticeable.
One thing to do is create a plan of the way you want the film to become structured. What you are going to say first and which details you will get across early. You’ll have about 10-seconds or so to get the attention of people and I would suggest a great visual shot or effect to hook them in.
There’s no question that we are now in an age where we are becoming more appreciative of creative film making. An illustration is the film Avatar. Love it or hate it, the film was ahead of its time in lots of ways. I’m not saying choose expensive animation techniques but you do need to create something a bit different to get people interested.
That is why, it is worth sitting down along with your creative team to believe up an angle. What is going to make our production different – should you choose it right it could go viral.
For instance, one of my favourite openings would be to slowly walk through the car parking facility from the main building towards the entry way or reception desk the place that the receptionist greets you – don’t forget this is all nice and evenly paced. When you come to edit this part it could look quite tame at the natural speed, but quicken things a little bit and you’ve got a fairly nice intro for your video. Add a voice-over using a catchy line like “As soon as our customers arrive, they’re welcomed quicky along with the respect they deserve” – too cheesy?
Obviously, this is perfectly up to you, but a properly worked intro having a nice piece of music, followed by a good clear voice could get people interested very quickly.
You may then focus on the meat of one’s movie this also should give full attention to building credibility to your products and pre-and-post purchase. Always limit product shots to just a few seconds. It is possible to summarize what your products do and their associated applications here but don’t exaggerate this part.
You can also use products being a background shot with an interview. This is used by way of a chroma key effect where you set up a blue or green screen behind the individual you might be interviewing. You’ll consider the shot as normal and then edit it or ‘key out’ the green or blue and drop in product images or animation instead. This works really well and gives a very nice visual effect.
Finally, the sign off should give them a quick a part of your corporate message or mission statement. Again, don’t go into an excessive amount of detail here. Just provide a final narrative that sums up the video and will be offering a subtle call to action.
Remember to experiment with your business videos and fiddle with techniques, effects and transitions inside the editing stage. No matter what, plan your video well, have some fun and become as creative as your budget and time-frame will allow.
